"I expected more. I've seen the animated version at least 20 times, and it's still more exciting than the new Lion King movie. I think the main problem is the storyline, which is completely the same. That shouldn't necessarily be a problem in the movie industry I guess but in this case…it is. There some minor alterations to the dialogue, but generally - the same thing. However, in the photorealistic animated (CGI, to be more precise) Lion King the quirky and funny lines simply don't match the bleak, documentary-style and very realistic photography. Neither do any of the movie's jokes. I wonder who the new movie is targeted at. Adults will undoubtedly compare it to the original, trying to see its flaws. Teens will be bored by the simple story, and the kids will not see the magic that the 1990’s kids did. If you compare the colours and the photography of the original and the remake, you'll quickly see the latter movie's weaknesses. Kids li...
